Our Waffle Equipment

Any there charges for FOL machines apart from plates?

During your loan programme and as long as you are keeping up with your minimum orders we will continue to repair your machine with little to no costs. We operate under a fair wear and tear policy but always let you know of charges before we proceed with any work.

If you don’t keep up with the minimum orders for free on loan you will be charged for rentals whilst you have the machine

There is also a small charge when you return the machine and close your account.

How long does a set of plates last? How many waffles can you cook before you need new plates?

A set of plates can last up to 12 boxes of waffle mix but this entirely depends on how you are cleaning and maintaining your machine and plates. You can find advice on how to maintain your plates on our Maintenance page. When you return your old plates we give you a £20 credit on your account.

Why do waffle machines break down?

If you imagine your machine is operating at 180 degrees or more for several hours at a time, is constantly being turned and is dealing with the moisture of the waffle mix you have to expect that it requires servicing! Our waffle machines are made up of components meaning any part having an issue can be replaced - this means your machine will last a lifetime as every part can simply be replaced, meaning you will never have to throw away your machine and buy a new one.

Do you send a replacement machine if mine breaks?

Our turn around for repairs is as quick as possible which means you will have very little down time for your waffle machine. We always recommend having a spare machine on your site.

What happens if my Free on Loan machine breaks at the weekend? Do you send an Engineer?

This is precisely why we recommend you have a spare machine, unfortunately the breakdowns tend to happen on a saturday night so having a spare machine means you are ready to keep serving waffles.

Do you provide training for my team?

Making waffles is one of the easiest food products you can serve your customers. We have many videos and guides on how to make the best waffle and maintain and clean your machine. Our friendly customer service team are always on hand to help you with any questions.

Do my waffle machines come back for a regular service / clean / plate change?

We are happy to offer servicing and when the machine comes back we can quote for any replacements we would recommend. We dont do any work without getting your confirmation. We give you as much advice as possible so you are able to clean the machine and change the plates yourself on site, meaning less downtime for serving waffles!

Can you freeze the waffles, how do you do this and how long do they take to re-heat?

Yes freezing waffles is a great way to avoid waste! We advise letting the waffle fully cool on a cooling rack and then put in an airtight bag or container to avoid freezer burn. They can be kept in the freezer for up to a month and then to reheat simply put in the waffle machine or a conventional oven for 3 minutes at 180 degrees.

What happens if I do not order enough flour to meet the minimum requirement?

We do a monthly review of all our free on loan customers and if you havent kept up your orders we will get in touch to give you a gentle reminder on what your obligations are. If you continue to get these reminders we will give you options of what might be best for you. You can either purchase the machine from the loan programme or you can simply return the machine to us.
